Just like in the first NSCS practice session at Infineon Raceway, Marcos Ambrose continued to show the fastest way around the track during the second practice session, as he posted a lap speed of 92.490mph.

Juan Pablo Montoya, with a speed of 92.293mph, was the second fastest, while Clint Bowyer (92.144) was third fastest, Jamie McMurray (92.123) fourth, Robby Gordon (92.085) fifth, Casey Mears (92.049) sixth, A J Allmendinger (92.048) seventh, pole sitter Brian Vickers (92.047) eighth, Sam Hornish Jr. (92.042) ninth and Raybestos Rookie contender Max Papis (92.022) rounds out the top-10 fastest.
