Caught in the Catchfence™

On July 2, NASCAR announced, via a SPEED Channel special broadcast, the full list of 25 nominees for the first class of five to be inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame. The five inductees will be announced in October and inducted into the Hall of Fame in Charlotte in May 2010.

To be considered for nomination, drivers have to be at least four years into retirement. Other NASCAR personalities – like owners, crew chiefs, mechanics, etc. – have to have worked in the sport for a minimum of 10 years.

The nominees were selected by a 21-person committee made up of folks from NASCAR, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, and several race tracks that are either historic or are currently on a NASCAR schedule. - Full Story by Amanda Vincent – Louisville NASCAR Examiner
