No. 5 Kellogg’s/CARQUEST Crew Best in the Pits
Press ReleaseMark Martin’s Team Voted the Best in Speed, Performance, Precision by Mechanix Wear for the Second Quarter

That’s why the No. 5 Kellogg’s/CARQUEST team won the Mechanix Wear Most Valuable Pit Crew Award for the second quarter – the only authentic competition voted on by crew chiefs. It is the second time the No. 5 team has won the award.
“I’m so proud of everyone on this race team,” Gustafson said. “The Mechanix Wear MVP award means a lot because our competitors are the ones that vote for it. So, to know that they have recognized the talent of this race team, that’s very rewarding. Our pit crew coaches, Mark Mauldin and Mark Morrison, work these guys real hard. I’ve watched them put everything into their job this year and the results have shown.”
The Mechanix Wear Most Valuable Pit Crew Award is awarded quarterly throughout the NASCAR Sprint Cup season, and the winning pit crew is determined by a vote of each team’s crew chief. The four quarterly winners are eligible for the year-end Mechanix Wear Most Valuable Pit Crew Award and a check for $100,000 awarded at the 2009 NASCAR banquet and awards ceremony.
