Mooresville, North Carolina, (August 4, 2009) – David Gilliland is ready for The Glen and to debut his new TaxSlayer.com colors on the No. 70 TaxSlayer.com Chevrolet Impala SS in this weekend’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at The Glen to be run Sunday, August 9.

Gilliland will be going back to the track where he had one of his worst racing accidents. He will also have a teammate for the first time this year with TRG’s sports car ace Andy Lally.

“I like Watkins Glen, the track is lots of fun to drive,” Gilliland said. “The track is really fast for a road course. I really enjoy road racing and I look forward to racing at The Glen every year. Last year I had a pretty bad accident, probably the worst of my career. We are ready to go. We have some good cars. I have a great teammate in Andy Lally. This is his home track and he has a great record there. I am looking forward to leaning on him for information, he should be a big help to us this weekend.”

The Riverside, California native is a seasoned road racer and is looking to translate his excellent runs at Infineon to the track located within sight of New York’s picturesque Finger Lakes.

“I think a lot of what we know about Infineon can translate to The Glen. We’ve done a lot of road course testing this season at VIR (Virginia International Raceway) and New Jersey Motorsports Park. I think we have learned a lot each time we went out. We had a great primary car at Infineon. We have gathered a lot of good information to have a good solid weekend.”

There will be a lot competition just to qualify this weekend.

“There will be a lot of good road racers there this weekend like Ron Fellows, Boris Said, Max Papis and of course Andy. A lot those guys are coming in for a one-off race. Our equipment for this weekend is as good as it has been all season. I feel like we have a great chance for a top finish.”

New sponsor TaxSlayer.com will ride with David for the first time this weekend.

“Watkins Glen will be a good debut for TaxSlayer.com on the car. The car really looks great. It has a medieval feel to it, which is cool. I am looking forward to meeting those folks and working with them over their six race term.”

Kevin Buckler, TRG Motorsports team principal, has a lot faith in Gilliland on road courses.

“David has proven his road racing prowess with many strong finishes,” Buckler said. “We need to help him translate his previous success at Infineon to Watkins Glen. With Andy as his teammate this weekend that will go a long way to making both cars very competitive. We will also introduce TaxSlayer.com to NASCAR racing with their first event with the team. It is going to be a very big weekend for TRG Motorsports!”

TRG Motorsports would also like to thank Racehost.com for thier support.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race from Watkins Glen International Raceway will be televised live on ESPN starting at 1:00 p.m. ET, Sunday, August 9.
