· The record for most laps led in a 500-lap race at Atlanta is 308 by Cale Yarborough in the 1969 Kobalt Tools 500 (spring race).
· The record for most lead changes in a race at Atlanta is 44 in the 1982 Pep Boys Auto 500 (fall race).
· The record for most different leaders in a race at Atlanta is 17 in the 2000 Kobalt Tools 500 (spring race).
· The record for fewest lead changes in a race at Atlanta is six (three times, most recently in the 1963 fall race).
· The driver leading the most laps has won FOUR of the 10 most recent fall races in Atlanta and scored EIGHT top-five finishes for an average finish of 5.4.
