Kahne keeps Chase hopes alive with Atlanta win

Kevin Harvick looked as if he may get the chance to visit victory lane for the first time in 2009 as the laps wound down in Sunday night’s Pep Boys Auto 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. That trip to victory lane will have to wait at least another week longer, as Kasey Kahne was the driver celebrating in victory lane with his team at the end of the night.

Harvick’s car was better on the long runs, but this race came down to a short run — an 11-lap sprint to the finish to be exact, giving Kahne, who had a car that was better on short runs, an advantage.
