Record Turnout At DIS For Fourth Annual NASCAR Foundation Blood Drive
Press Release
The Drive, which was staged inside the Boardwalk Club alongside Lake Lloyd in the Daytona International Speedway infield, produced a 17% increase in units of blood collected from the previous year’s drive at “The World Center of Racing.”
The event generated 466 registered donors, 414 units of blood and 91 bone marrow registrations.
Blood donations were received by Florida’s Blood Centers and marrow registrations were handled by Kids Beating Cancer, Inc.
“We’re proud of the growth of our annual NASCAR Foundation Blood & Marrow Drive,” Daytona International Speedway President Robin Braig said. “It’s great to see the race fans in our community join together to help save lives and we look forward to building upon our success in 2010.”
Every guest who donated received a gift bag, donated by 3M, and a ticket to next July’s Subway Jalapeno 250 Powered By Coca-Cola NASCAR Nationwide Series race.
