Daytona International Speedway Ready For Second Annual Daytona Beach Half Marathon
Press ReleaseFor the second straight year, Daytona International Speedway is joining forces with the Central Florida Sports Commission, the Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Daytona Beach Sports Council of Volusia County to host the Daytona Beach Half Marathon on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 6 a.m.
The 13.1-mile race will start at historic Daytona International Speedway, proceed through the streets of Daytona Beach, including a run along the boardwalk of the “World’s Most Famous Beach,” before concluding at the Speedway’s legendary start/finish line.
Advanced entry fee for the Daytona Beach Half Marathon is $60 per person (must sign up by Oct. 1) and includes an event t-shirt, finisher’s medal, post-race party admission and Daytona 500 Experience motorsports attraction admission. Registration is open until race day and is available on the event website: www.daytonabeachhalf.com. The half marathon is open to anyone who can complete the course in 3 hours and 30 minutes.
Approximately 700 competitors from around the country and the world are expected to race. To date, athletes have registered from as far away as Canada and the United Kingdom.
