Test number five in the course “2009 Chase for the Sprint Cup” will be given on Saturday night and Lowe’s Motor Speedway in the form of the NASCAR Banking 500.

Several drivers, including class leaders Jimmie Johnson, Mark Martin, Juan Montoya, and Tony Stewart already have a leg up on the rest of the class of 12, while several classmates from fifth on back in the ranking each have a hole of more than 100 points to dig out of.

Several drivers from fifth on back, including Jeff Gordon, who is in the fifth spot, 105 back, have put together a string of strong runs, but still find themselves with a deficit of more than 100 points as the top three — Johnson, Martin, Montoya, and Stewart run at or near the front week in and week out. - Full Story by Amanda Vincent – Louisville NASCAR Examiner
