Johnson wins again
Caught in the Catchfence™Kansas Speedway may have been good for the Chase field as a whole a couple of weeks ago, handing top-10 finishes to nine of them. The same could not be said of Lowe’s Motor Speedway on Saturday night during the NASCAR Banking 500, the fifth installment of the 2009 Chase for the Sprint Cup.
One of the few Chasers who had a good night was Jimmie Johnson. Johnson had the best possible night by ending it in victory lane. The win was Johnson’s third of the Chase, as he becomes the first driver in the history of the Chase to claim three wins in the first five races. He also increased his points lead over Hendrick Motorsports teammate and fellow Chaser Mark Martin from 12 to 90 points.
Despite the 90-point cushion, Johnson and the No. 48 team aren’t resting on their laurels. - Full Story by Amanda Vincent – Louisville NASCAR Examiner
