Biffle on Martinsville: “Martinsville has never been a good track for me but because of that, I think a good run there would be that much better. We tested for this race and we’re doing everything we can as an organization to make sure we’re improving our Martinsville program. The most important thing is to get the car to rotate through the corner and beat them off the gas. If we can do that, we should be okay. If I ever get one of those grandfather clocks, I have a place saved for it in my house.”

Erwin on Martinsville: “We tested the car we’re taking to Martinsville at the little track at Rockingham last week and we were pretty happy with the test. Greg (Biffle) was happy with the car there and I think we picked up a few things that will help us at Martinsville. Martinsville and the little track at Rockingham are obviously different track surfaces but it was good to get this car out there. The key this weekend will be to get the car to rotate through the center so the driver can get into the gas as soon as possible coming off of the corner.”

Notes:

• Following a 16th-place finish in Charlotte, Biffle remains seventh in the point standings.

• Biffle’s best finish at Martinsville in a Cup car is seventh. He does have one pole and one top-five finish there in the truck series.

• Earlier this season at Martinsville rain caused the cancellation of both practice sessions on Saturday and the 3M team spent most of the race adjusting the handling of the car with little progress finally finishing 28th.
