Hopeful to Reach Milestone in Front of Home Crowd

Huntersville, N.C. (November 2, 2009) – Bobby Labonte is closing in on another career milestone heading into his home state of Texas this weekend. This past Sunday at the Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway Labonte collected a 10th-place finish. The result was his 199th career top-10 and marked the first top-10 for TRG Motorsports.

“We had a strong car and were able to stay out of trouble,” said Labonte. “It was a typical race for Talladega and you are always happy when you can bring the car back to the hauler in one piece.”

Labonte has now earned top-10 finishes for five different organizations. Labonte’s most top-10’s were collected at Joe Gibbs Racing, but he has also earned top 10 finishes for Bill Davis Racing, Petty Enterprises, Hall of Fame Racing and TRG.

“Yeah, it’s great to get top-10 results and run up front,” continued Labonte. “That’s my job each time I get in the car. I know I’ve got a lot more of these finishes in me and it’d be cool to reach 200 in Texas. I don’t need incentive, but the timing would be special if it happened in Texas.”

Sunday’s Dickies 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway will be televised live by ABC beginning at 2:30 p.m. (ET).
