Kurt Busch captured his 20th NASCAR Sprint Cup Series career victory, as he held off Denny Hamlin in the Dickies 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.

This is Busch’s second series career win of the 2009 season and his first win at Texas Motor Speedway.

The current series points leader, Jimmie Johnson, came into Texas with a 184 point lead over second place Mark Martin, but on lap three, Johnson’s day turned bad when Sam Hornish Jr., got into Johnson. Johnson took a big hit, both in hitting the wall, and in the points standings, as he ended up 129 laps down and finishing in 38th. Johnson now leads Mark Martin by 73 points with two races left to determine the championship.

Following Busch and Hamlin to the drop of the checkered flag were Matt Kenseth finishing third, Mark Martin fourth, Kevin Harvick fifth, Tony Stewart sixth, Clint Bowyer seventh, Greg Biffle eighth, Jeff Burton ninth and A J Allmendinger rounds out the top-10 finishers.
