A Chance to Help Proved to Be a Chance of a Lifetime
Press ReleaseJeff Gordon Hands Over the Keys to His Personal Corvette

The Jeff Gordon Foundation launched this year’s Corvette Raffle — now in its fourth year — in early April and sold out all 5,000 tickets by mid-September. Tickets purchased for this raffle support the Foundation’s fight against pediatric cancer, their support of the Jeff Gordon Children’s Hospital and the Texas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities.
“The Foundation has had an amazing year with the celebration of our ten year anniversary and the tens of thousands of children that we have been able to help,” said Gordon. “Our supporters helped us reach our goal and sell out the raffle, and that will allow us to strengthen our fight against pediatric cancer and further our support of the Jeff Gordon Children’s Hospital.
“We would not be able to achieve our goals without the help of our donors, and I can’t thank them enough.”
Sivulich, a retired school teacher, football and wrestling coach, has purchased Corvette raffle tickets for several years, and the third time was the charm since one of the three tickets he purchased was drawn as the winner.
“I believe in everything The Jeff Gordon Foundation stands for, it’s a good and worthy organization,” said Sivulich. “I had a hard time believing I won.”
As part of the festivities, Sivulich and the three girls assisted Gordon in presenting the Texas Chapter Speedway Children’s Charities with a check for $100,000. A $15,000 check was also presented to the Children’s Medical Center in Dallas in honor of Emily, Mycah and Jordan. It is because of the generosity shown by each person that supported this year’s raffle that Emily, Mycah, Jordan and thousands of children bravely battling pediatric cancer are given a greater chance at a healthy future.
To commemorate The Jeff Gordon Foundation’s Ten Year Anniversary, $2.5 million was donated and committed for 2009 to some of the country’s top childhood health organizations. These organizations are instrumental in granting assistance to patients and families with incredible financial burdens, providing life-saving medical treatment, and in helping to fund promising new cancer research and treatment programs, proceeds also benefit the Jeff Gordon Children’s Hospital. The foundation is excited to announce the corvette raffle contributed to $500,000 of this year’s pledge.
