Racing in Thunder Valley: Recap
- Eric McClure, in front of a hometown crowd, started the 300-lap event in the 28th position and brought the car home in the 26th position.
Did You Know: Texas Style
- The Virginia native returns to one of his favorite tracks this weekend where he will compete in his 78th career NASCAR Nationwide Series event.
- The Emory and Henry College Graduate completed four events at the 1.5 mile Texas Motor Speedway. His best start came in 2005 when he started 26th for Jimmy Means Racing. McClure’s best finish of 29th came April 2007 when he competed for Johnny Davis Motorsports.
Helmet Cam
- For the second time this season, John Bousselot, a native of Denton, Texas and the front tire carrier on the #24 Ford, will be sporting a helmet cam during the event. ESPN will show Bousselot and the entire #24 crew in action during at least one of their pit-stops during the O’Reilly 300.
Chassis # 44
- McClure will pilot Chassis #44 in this weekend’s O’Reilly 300 at Texas Motor Speedway. This chassis was run at both California and Las Vegas this season. In 2008, this chassis posted a best qualifying effort of 3rd and finish of 16th (November).

“Texas is a great place and has great fan support. It’s fast and has a pretty fair amount of grip. I am looking forward to this race. We learned a lot in California and Vegas and I hope we can carry that over to the race this weekend. I am trying to improve on the intermediate tracks and hopefully I can make another step and have a good points finish this week.”
