Dexter Bean Solid In NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race At The Milwaukee Mile
Press Release“Bean battled handling issues throughout the day”
WESTBY, Wis., JUNE 22, 2009 – - Dexter Bean had a fine showing for his hometown crowd at The Milwaukee Mile in his second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race. Bean started in the 27th starting position after rain cancelled qualifying and the starting grid was determined by owner’s points. Bean placed 17th in the rain delayed Copart 200 on Saturday, June 20, 2009.While battling a tight truck all day in the scorching heat Bean managed to make his way as far forward as the 15th position. After a pit stop on lap 145 where the DGM Racing crew made a slight air pressure adjustment, the truck handled better than it had for the prior laps but, it only lasted a few laps. With the truck constantly pushing up the track Bean literally fought for every position he gained.
“Milwaukee is such a flat track that it is hard to get the trucks to turn,” said Bean, driver of the No. 12 LiveWire Energy Chews Chevy Silverado. “After the race I spoke with some other drivers and they were having the same handling problem I was. With such an ill-handling truck I was just glad to bring it home in one piece.”
Bean’s next race will be in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series No. 51 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at 2 p.m. ET. Qualifying for the Lenox Industrial Tools 301 is shown on SPEED at 3 p.m. ET on Friday, June 26, 2009.
