Todd Bodine Fourth in Copart 200
Press Release“We were just way too tight. We struggled a little bit in practice with the Copart Tundra. We made some changes for the race. We just missed it. It’s still a good day to come back to fourth. I was glad there weren’t any more laps. Ron (Hornaday) has a little points lead on us in this Copart Challenge of Champions, so we have to do better next week,” said Bodine, the 2006 Truck Series champion.
Milwaukee was the kickoff of a six-race promotion where Copart will award prizes to Copart Racing fans who visit copart.com and vote for one of the two Truck Series champions that drive for Copart.
Todd Bodine twice led the 33-truck field, in part by strong support from the Copart Tundra pit crew.
“The Copart Tundra was not up to our normal standards the whole race. The guys did a great job all weekend. We were able to keep our track position because of the great job the guys did on pit road,” stated crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. of the effort that produced a top-5 truck throughout the 200-lap race – an indication of the high standards of Germain Racing.
The pit crew this week was blend of familiar faces – a combined crew from Germain Racing’s No. 15 Camry crew and the regular No. 30 Tundra pit crew.
“I want to thank all of our Tundra and Camry crew guys for all the hard work this weekend in Milwaukee. We used a combined pit crew and that doesn’t always work out. With our group of guys, it worked perfectly,” said Hillman of the pit work that netted Todd Bodine and the Copart Tundra the O’Reilly Auto Parts People, Service and Performance award for spending only 178.919 seconds on pit road.
Bodine’s fifth top-five finish of the year moved him up to third place in the championship standings. He trails fellow Copart racer and Truck Series point leader Hornaday by 88 points heading after 10 of 25 races.
Next up for Bodine and the Copart Tundra: Memphis Motorsports Park, Saturday, June 27th.
