SPARTA, KY. (July 14, 2009) – Chad McCumbee and the SS Green Light Racing tiwi-sponsored team will go all out in search of that elusive first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory at this weekend’s 225-mile race at Kentucky Speedway.

McCumbee will be competing in the same Chevy truck that was completely rebuilt for and last raced, in the Dover event in May when he qualified fifth and finished seventh. “This is a great truck,” said McCumbee. “It reacts positive to change and we’ve run competitively with it. The guys have been working real hard getting it ready for Kentucky.”

“And we’re so proud to have tiwi back as our sponsor this week. If you notice the green dot on the upper right-hand corner on the windshields of every truck, that’s the tiwi logo used in NASCAR’s on-board lap counter. The technology is that good, and with the incident data recorders also on board, it just makes you feel safer.”

For teens, having tiwi on board is like having a spotter with you in your street vehicle. But a spotter has limitations — tiwi does not. “My spotter can’t alert me if my seat belts aren’t pulled tight. Of course, speeding is the point on the racetrack, but certainly not on public roads. This tiwi race team is not going to limit itself this weekend. We’re going to do whatever we need to do to try to get to Victory Lane.”

McCumbee will rely on his spotter this weekend to help him avoid accidents so that he does not end up in one as he did in this event last year. In three races at the 1.5-mile oval, McCumbee has two top-10 starts and two top-twenty finishes. He is currently 17th in the 2009 points standings with one top-five and four top-ten finishes in 10 starts.

tiwi’s advanced GPS technology tells a driver when they’re exceeding the speed limit, driving erratically or when they forget to buckle up, ultimately making the driving experience a much safer one for more inexperienced drivers.

inthinc combines innovative ideas with engineering expertise to create breakthrough technology that mentors drivers to save lives, prevent accidents and provide significant operating efficiencies. inthinc technology dramatically improves driver behavior and has been documented to reduce accidents by more than 80 percent. tiwi is a first-of-its-kind system to mentor and monitor teen drivers as they develop critical driving habits. It is an onboard computer with the power to instantly alert and instruct young drivers while, at the same time, enabling parents to receive real-time notifications by phone, text or email concerning their teen’s current location, actions and driving safety. The trucks take to the Kentucky Speedway, just outside of Cincinnati for practice Friday, July 17th. Qualifying will be Saturday July 18th at 3:00pm and the green flag will fall on the Built Ford Tough 225 presented by the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers at 7:00 Eastern.
