Short Track Stint: “This race kicks off a few short track races for the series. I am excited about that. It is a really good chance for us to have some fun beating and banging on each other. This is where rubbing is racing boys! I like to break up the monotony every now and then and race short track style. So this will be a fun few races for us.”
Local Ties and Comparing Indy to Speedweeks: “In my opinion ORP is one of the premier shorts tracks in the United States. Richmond, Bristol and Irwindale are ranked as some of the best short tracks by many different drivers. But I have to say I think ORP ranks right up there with those facilities. The action in Indy provides sort of a northern “Speed Weeks” for the fans from surrounding states, four races with four different divisions in four days. Who wouldn’t want to take that in?”
Passing Options: “The great thing about ORP is that it provides a driver with so many options to pass. In the corners you can go anywhere you want – from the grass on the bottom to the outside fence and anywhere in between. For me if your chassis is working the way you want it, the high side is the ticket. The fastest way around is at the very top of the racetrack. You can’t have much more fun than that. ORP is truly a driver’s racetrack and I think that is why you see some of the best drivers have success there.”
