“O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis (ORP) is a neat race track. It’s a lot like the race tracks that we all grew up racing on. For whatever reason, it’s been good to me. I’ve always ran well there whether it be in a Truck or a Nationwide car. It’s a fun little short track. It’s also a true one-day show and a lot of stuff is packed into the schedule with practice, qualifying, and the race all taking place on the same day. It’s a neat race for us. It’s also a triple header weekend with the sprint cars racing Thursday, our race on Friday, and the Nationwide race on Saturday. It will be an exciting weekend of racing for everyone!”

BRACELETS BRING HOPE FOR POLICE OFFICER:

Sergeant Joan Manning, a longtime race fan and 22-year veteran of the Miamisburg (OH) Police Department, is battling Stage 3 Multiple Myeloma Cancer. As a tribute to her, the entire Wyler Racing team will wear dark blue bracelets inscribed with her unit number this weekend at ORP.

THE CREW CHIEF’S CHOICE FOR INDIANAPOLIS:

Marcus Richmond, Crew Chief of the No. 60 SafeAuto Insurance Company / Wyler.com Toyota Tundra, has selected chassis number 91 for the AAA Insurance 200. This chassis was last raced at Memphis Motorsports Park where it qualified sixth and ran in the top-five before a miscommunication on pit road relegated Compton and the team to a 17th place finish. “It is the same truck we ran at Martinsville and Memphis,” said Richmond, “and at both places, we unloaded fast. ORP changes a lot so I think if we can keep up with the track conditions, we’ll have a good finish on Friday night.”

COMPTON’S CAREER AT O’REILLY RACEWAY PARK AT INDIANAPOLIS:

Stacy Compton has a total of 10 previous starts at O’Reilly Raceway Park, split equally between the NASCAR Nationwide Series and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Compton made his first attempt at the Indianapolis area short track in 1997, when he competed at the .686-mile oval while driving for David Hodson in the Truck Series. Compton has accumulated one top-five and one top-10 in each series, with his overall best finish coming in the Truck Series in 1999 after he qualified fifth and finished second in the 1999 Power Stroke 200 presented by Ford.
