Kansas Speedway Announces 2010 Spring Race Weekend
Press ReleaseKANSAS CITY, Kan. (July 31, 2009) – Kansas Speedway announced today that both the IndyCar Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will be returning to the facility in 2010. The Road Runner Turbo Indy 300 is set for Saturday, May 1 and the O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 will run on Sunday, May 2.
“We look forward to hosting both the IndyCar Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2010 as we celebrate our 10th year of racing,” said Kansas Speedway President Jeff Boerger. “Our fans, especially those that travel from other areas to enjoy racing at Kansas Speedway, have asked that both of these races run earlier in the day and by moving our race weekend back a week, we’re able to accommodate this request.”
The IndyCar Series and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series have run in conjunction with each other since 2001, with Eddie Cheever Jr. capturing the checkered flag for the Road Runner Turbo Indy 300 and the late Ricky Hendrick claiming his first win in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 250.
This year, Scott Dixon won the Road Runner Turbo Indy 300 and Mike Skinner won the O’Reilly Auto Parts 250, capturing Randy Moss Motorsports first win.
