Ron Hornaday, Jr., continues to make NASCAR history with winning his fifth consecutive race as he wins the NCWTS Toyota Tundra 200 at Nashville Superspeedway.

This is Hornaday’s 45th win in the series, his 6th of the season, and his first at Nashville Superspeedway.

Hornaday held off Brian Scott by 0.944 seconds, to become the first driver (in any of the three top NASCAR series) since Richard Petty, who won 10 consecutive races in 1967 and 5 consecutive races in 1971; as well as, Bobby Allison, who won 5 consecutive races in 1971, to win 5 in a row.

Hornaday’s crew chief, Rick Ren, also made NCWTS history as he now has 27 career victories as a crew chief. He was previously tied for first with Dennis Connor.

Hornaday now leads Matt Crafton by 216 points.

Following Hornaday and Scott to the drop of the checkered flag were Colin Braun in third, Timothy Peters fourth, Matt Crafton fifth, Raybestos Rookie contender Johnny Sauter sixth, Rick Crawford seventh, Dennis Setzer eighth, Raybestos Rookie contender Tayler Malsam ninth and TJ Bell rounds out the top-10 finishers.
