The Wisconsin State Fair Board announced Monday that it has a letter of intent with Historic Mile LLC to promote auto-racing events at the Milwaukee Mile.

Historic Mile LLC was chosen last Thursday by the board during a special session. On Friday, Fair Board Chairwoman Susan Crane and Interim Executive Director Craig Barkelar executed the letter of intent for a license agreement with Historic Mile LLC principals Tony Machi, Jim Beaudoin and Steve Jones. Jones most recently was general manager and chief operating officer of the Milwaukee Mile this year.

The letter of intent, which is in place for the next 55-plus days, is not a promoter agreement but does allow Historic Mile LLC to move forward exclusively in an attempt to demonstrate it has the financial resources to fund various track operations.
