Hermie Sadler To Return To The Track at Bristol Motor Speedway
Press Release(August 12, 2009) - Hermie Sadler, the 1993 Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year and current analyst for SPEED, will pilot Andy Hillenburg’s #48 in the O’Reilly 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
The truck will carry the colors of Victory Junction and The Hermie and Elliott Sadler Foundation to create awareness courtesy of Joe Denette, a Spotsylvania, Virginia native who won the Mega Millions Lottery jackpot back in May of this year. Denette will make a $100,000.00 contribution to both charities during Bristol race weekend.
“I really appreciate what The Sadler Family and the Petty family do for so many kids that need their help,” stated Joe Denette. “ I am now fortunate to be in a position to make a difference, and I encourage other people to do the same. I am looking forward to seeing Hermie back on the track while creating awareness for both these fine charities.”
Sadler, who has not raced since Martinsville this spring, is looking forward to getting back on the track at Bristol. “ I miss being behind the wheel”, stated Sadler. “This gives me a chance to go have a little fun on a Wednesday night while creating awareness for our foundation and Victory Junction.
Kyle Petty will receive the donation from Denette on behalf of Victory Junction. “What Joe is doing will have an incredible impact on a lot of kids at camp,” stated Petty. “We are honored to be a part of Hermie’s return to the track and we appreciate all the great things Hermie and Elliott do for Autism through their foundation.”
The O’Reilly 200 is live on SPEED beginning at 8 pm eastern on August 19.
