Todd Bodine, Ventrilo Tundra a Strong Contender at Chicagoland
Press Release“When Kyle (Busch) got by me I got too good of a restart. I allowed some space in between the Ventrilo Tundra and his Toyota and it’s a lot like superspeedway racing and he got a draft on me and drafted past me. I should have thought of that. It’s my own fault,” reflected Bodine on the race results. “We had a better truck than he (Kyle Busch) had — that’s the way it goes. This Ventrilo Tundra was still really good. It wasn’t that good to start. We made some great adjustments and got it handling really well. Unfortunately, Kyle (Busch) got in front of me.”
Bodine said the Chicagoland Speedway was a very fast circuit.
“I could run wide-open when I was by myself. That’s how you go fast around here,” said Bodine who owns two pole awards at Chicagoland in NASCAR’s top two divisions.
Crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. said that he is very proud of what his team accomplished, even though the competitive spirit of Germain Racing sometimes makes accepting the second-place finish with a smile a tough task.
“The race went really well. I’m proud of all the guys on the Ventrilo Tundra team for working hard and never giving up. We had one of the best trucks there, but sometimes you just don’t win,” said Hillman Jr. “I’m really proud of our effort and we’re heading to another new track for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Iowa Speedway. Our team is focused on showing up at Iowa and racing to win.”
The next race for Germain Racing’s No. 30 Tundra is at Iowa Speedway on Saturday, September 5th at 9:45 PM Eastern. Sponsorship opportunities are available for the No. 30 Tundra at Iowa – from primary to associate sponsorships. Visit www.germainracing.com for information on how you can sponsor the No. 30 Tundra.
