· Peters at Vegas…
The Las Vegas 350 will mark Timothy Peters’ second start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In only one previous start in 2005, Peters started 27th and finished 26th. Although he has not raced on the new speedway configuration, he logged laps on the redesigned 1.5-mile track during a NASCAR Nationwide Series test in 2007.· Riding The Momentum… Peters and his #17 Strutmasters.com team suffered a minor set-back last weekend in New Hampshire when the team’s streak of five top-10’s in a row came to an end with a 19th place finish. Peters and the team are not giving up. They plan to start the streak over in Las Vegas and finish out the year in the top-10 each week. The #17 team is also committed to getting Peters inside the top-10 in driver point standings before the end of the season. Peters came into the New Hampshire weekend eighth in the point standings but fell to 11th after the race was over. He and the team are focused on earning as many points as they can each week to secure his spot in the top-10 at the end of the year.
· Peters to Tour Nellis Air Force Base… Peters has the unique opportunity this week to tour a United States Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada. Located just a short distance from the race track, Nellis Air Force Base had opened its doors to Timothy Peters and the Red Horse Racing team. Peters will tour different areas of the base and then close with an autograph session at the Air Force Thunderbirds Hanger. Peters will be keeping busy in Las Vegas before he ever arrives at the track. Thursday night he will be participating in a charity bowling tournament at the South Point Casino to benefit Speedway Children’s Charities. Friday evening he will be signing autographs at the Stratosphere Casino from 7-8pm.

Timothy Peters on racing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway: “I’ve only run at Las Vegas once in 2005. I haven’t raced on the new configuration but I think my Nationwide Series test in 2007 helped me prepare. We are taking my favorite truck this weekend. Every time we run this chassis we seem to run really well. Hopefully we can get another great finish this weekend and keep the momentum going. We need to get everything we can each week as the season winds down.”Crew Chief Chad Kendrick on Las Vegas Motor Speedway: “I’m ready to get back to a mile and a half track. This chassis we are taking is Timothy’s favorite. We’ve had a lot of success this year on the mile and a half tracks since joining Red Horse Racing so hopefully this will be another good one for us.”
Equipment Information: Timothy Peters will compete with chassis # 138 in the Las Vegas 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This is the same chassis Peters raced at Michigan, Kentucky, Nashville and Chicago where he finished eighth, fourth, fourth and ninth respectively.- Red Horse Racing Press Release
