RAYBESTOS® ROOKIE CONTENDER QUOTES FOR THE
WINSTAR WORLD CASINO 350
NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES RACE
AT TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY,
JOHNNY SAUTER IN THE No. 13 FUN SAND/RIO GRAND/CURB RECORDS CHEVROLET WAS THE TOP RAYBESTOS ROOKIE IN TONIGHT’S RACE AT TEXAS.Sauter scored a sixth-place finish, his 11th top-10 finish of the 2009 season. He collected Raybestos Rookie of the Race honors for the second consecutive race and for the 12th time this season.
Sauter collected his ninth top-10 in 21 career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series superspeedway starts.
SAUTER: “It’s disappointing. It is what it is and we’ll go to the next one.”
RICKY CARMICHAEL, No. 4 MONSTER ENERGY CHEVROLET: YOU RAN IN THE TOP-10 FOR MUCH OF THE NIGHT.“We just lost the handling there a little bit but that’s really kind of where we were. It was a good run. I’m happy. It’s nice to finally finish a race with nothing all wrecked up. I had a blast this year with these guys. I’ve got to thank KHI, obviously Monster Energy and glad to be second Raybestos Rookie today. I’m happy to bring this thing home in one piece and get a solid run. The guys that beat me, they’re no flak.”
DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOUR PLANS MIGHT BE FOR NEXT YEAR?
“Hopefully I’ll do a full year of trucks next year, be back in this series. We’ll have some more stuff later on this week to let everyone know but my plan would be to run the whole series. You’ve got to be in it every race. That’s our goal, that’s the plan, and we’ll let everyone know.”
JAMES BUESCHER, No. 10 INTERNATIONAL MAXXFORCE DIESEL FORD:
“It started off good. We raced up in the top-10 for the first maybe 20 laps. It depends on the aerodynamic part of it so much for grip with all the dirty air. I mean we were good in practice and qualified decent but with all the dirty air around us it just wouldn’t do
anything and had no grip all night. I fought a loose truck all day and didn’t finish real good.”
TAYLER MALSAM, No. 81 ONE-EIGHTY TOYOTA:
“We just didn’t have a truck this weekend. I mean we couldn’t hold it wide open like everyone else could. I don’t know what to say. They did a good job during practice. I thought we had a good truck but ended up being not true. We were too tight all night and then we couldn’t get on the restarts. We were too loose. Couldn’t get it figured out.”
