AT HOMESTEAD-MIAMI SPEEDWAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2009,

· Ron Hornaday Jr. earned the 2009 WIX Filters Lap Leader Award in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Hornaday Jr. finished the 2009 season with 1,091 laps led in 19 races.

Hornaday Jr. is also the 2009 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion. His final margin of victory over second-place Matt Crafton was 187 points. He claimed his FOURTH series title and is the first driver to win four titles.

Hornaday Jr. racked up six wins, 15 top-five and 20 top-10 finishes this season.

Hornaday Jr. is the second series champion to clinch the series title one race early joining Greg Biffle (2000).

Kevin and Delana Harvick clinched their second series title in tonight’s race. Their first came in 2007 with Hornaday Jr.

“It would have been really bad if we did not win that owner’s championship. This team really deserves it. Kevin and Delana have given us the equipment to do the stuff that we do. Five wins in a row is remarkable and that’s because of [crew chief] Rick Ren and all the guys and Kevin and Delana letting us build new trucks week in and week out. I went up there probably two months ago and they had like 11 trucks done.

I went back up there two weeks ago and only four trucks. Kevin keeps selling my truck and keeps building new ones. I’m not going to complain because they’re faster than anything you drive and at my age you get to get in these rocket ships and I’m still having fun, other than this weekend and last weekend when I was sicker than a dog. It’ll hit me as soon as we get a cold beverage over there at the motorhome.”
