Planning to rebound from a mid-pack finish at Nashville, White and the GunBroker.com team will be bringing a brand new race truck to the mile and a half speedway just west of Kansas City. White has finished fifteenth and tenth in the last two races at the fast mile and a half track and Jason feels they have the right truck to continue the upward trend on Sunday afternoon. “The guys in the GunBroker.com shop have done a great job on this truck and I expect to be right up front running in the top five or top ten all day.”
White is currently eighth in the NCWTS point standings heading to Sunday’s race. “I love going to Kansas, it’s a great track and we’ve run good there the last couple races,” Jason said. “I’m really expecting to improve on last years tenth place finish. I won’t be happy with anything less.”
“It’s been three weeks since we’ve raced and I’m excited to get back to the track,” White explained. “The GunBroker.com guys keep me busy when we’re not racing, but there is no feeling like getting back behind the wheel at 175 miles an hour at Kansas.”
“I’m really pleased with this new truck,” Crew Chief Doug Howe. “Each time you build one you keep trying to make it better than the last. The guys have put in a lot of effort and it shows, this should be a good truck for Kansas.”
This week’s O’Reilly 250 is a rare Sunday afternoon race as the trucks normally race on Friday nights or Saturday afternoons. “I don’t care what day we race, we have next week off so it doesn’t matter,” joked White. “I just want to get back in the GunBroker.com truck and put this thing up front and try to get back into the top-five in the points.”
There will be two practice sessions for the forty trucks that have pre-entered the O’Reilly 250 at the Kansas Speedway on Saturday May 1st with qualifying at 3:30pm. The race will be shown live on SPEED TV at noon on Sunday May 2nd and will also be broadcast live on MRN Radio.
