HUNTERSVILLE, NC (5/5/10) – When racers remember certain racetracks, they do so in one of two ways. The first memories are of their top finishes. The second are of the tracks where they have unfinished business. ARCA sophomore driver Joey Coulter remembers historic Toledo Speedway for both, and is looking to further better his memories this year in the Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care.

“Pretty much every track has a special memory or nuisance about it that I remember. Toledo Speedway has held a special place with me since I first ran there,” commented Coulter. It’s a fast, tight, challenging track that really suits to my driving style. I look forward to getting back to the side by side door banging action that Toledo is famous for.”

While most can’t wait to get off the close quarters of the short tracks and head to the bigger, spacious, intermediates, Coulter thrives in the beating and banging, fast paced action of Toledo Speedway. In only two previous starts in 2009, Coulter has amassed some pretty good results. A hard fought seventh in the spring race (5/17/09) led to Coulter earning his second career Menards Pole Award, leading 70 laps and earning a career best finish of second last fall (9/4/09).

Coulter Motorsports crew chief Harold Holly has been preparing the team for the short track battle during the last two and a half weeks off from ARCA racing competition. The team has tested several times at Tri County Motor Speedway in Hudson, NC in preparation for the year’s short track races, including the upcoming Toledo race. The shake down sessions have provided Coulter more valuable seat time, while allowing a chance for the team to fine tune the newly prepared cars.

On top of testing and a vigorous school schedule, Coulter has managed to stay very busy during the few rare down weeks from ARCA racing. He has been a special guest at several events, including for rock band Puddle of Mudd at 98 Rock Fest in Tampa, FL. He was also a guest of ARCA Racing Series fuel supplier Sunoco at a special viewing of the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, NC. Coulter has also stayed busy testing and running his super late model, preparing for upcoming races throughout the summer months.

“I am excited to get back to ARCA racing, especially at Toledo Speedway,” said Coulter. “Harold (Holly) and all of my guys have done a phenomenal job getting our cars ready and preparing for the upcoming race, and I can’t wait to jump back in and get out on track.”

Make sure you tune into www.arcaracing.com Sunday, May 23rd at 2:00 PM to catch LIVE timing and scoring of the Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care and to watch Joey Coulter and his No. 16 Darrell Gwynn Foundation, Rip It Energy Fuel, Tempest Cycles, Chevrolet.
