Press Release

Mooresville, NC (June 1, 2010)- Making his fifth career start at Pocono Raceway this Saturday, June 5th, Justin Marks is putting Toledo in the rear view mirror and setting his sights on the 2.5-mile triangle. After fifth place qualifying effort at Toledo Speedway, Justin remained at the front of the field with the leaders for the first 195 of 200 laps. Unfortunately, Marks was forced to a disappointing 16th place finish caused by a flat tire with five laps remaining in the event.

Win-Tron will revert back to a Toyota Camry for the Construct Corps entry this weekend at Pocono after competing in a Dodge Charger at Toledo. In three previous races with a Toyota this season, Justin brought home two top-ten finishes including a fourth place effort at Texas Motor Speedway in April.

The team and driver hope to pair up their successes this weekend as both showed success last season at the triangle. Marks scored his best career finish of eighth, while Win-Tron logged top-five finishes in both events at Pocono in 2009. A team-best runner-up finish last August came with Portland, Texas native Matt Merrell behind the wheel for the Minnesota-based organization.

Marks will enter the Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper 200 ten markers behind series point leader Patrick Sheltra, while car owner Kevin Cywinski trails Grace Sheltra (No. 60) by ten points as well in car owner’s points standings.

Justin Marks on Pocono

Pocono is a cool track. It’s always fun to go to unique places that require their own approach. All three corners are so different from each other- you need to just really pick a corner that’s important to you and work hard on the setup for that portion of the track. It’s kind of a compromise because it’s rare to be really good in all three parts of the track.

The Construct Corps Toyota has been good this year at every track and I know Pocono will be no different. Plus it’s in a nice part of the country and we usually have fun in the local community as well. We had a heart breaker of a weekend in Toledo that put us behind a bit in the points, but as long as we keep running in the top five we’ll stay squarely in the hunt for this championship.

Co-Owner Nate Thiesse on Pocono

“Before last year, Pocono Raceway had not been very kind to Win-Tron Racing. Last year, however the team exploded with Matt (Merrell) and did fantastic. We’re approaching the race this weekend the same way we did last year and hoping for similar results.

Justin has been to Pocono plenty of times, so we aren’t concerned about his ability to adapt to the track. In his last race there, he was able to conquer his first top-10 finish, so that’s super encouraging. We’re not putting any added pressure on him this weekend, because he knows what he has to do. We’re going there to do our job and hope we’ll come home with a finish we’ll be satisfied with.”
