Mattioli’s Best Finish of Year Dashed
Press Release
On the way through the field, Mattioli piloted his #17 Liquid Fence / Advance Payment Ford past Justin Marks (currently 2nd in points), Pennsylvania ARCA legend and 5 time ARCA Daytona Champion, Bobby Gerhardt and Richard Childress Development driver and current Rookie Points Leader, Tim George, all top drivers with top notch equipment under them.
After a routine pit stop on lap 31, Mattioli radioed that he had a vibration, and by the time he completed lap 32, the drive shaft failed, putting him out of the race. Instead of a his best finish of the year, Chase had his worst, coming on the heels of a 12th place run at Toledo and a 13th place at Talladega.
“Chase showed me a lot today,” commented veteran spotter, Charlie Vest. “While the run was only 30 laps, they were his very best lap yet. I have been watching him sharpen his skills each race for over the last two years, and today he was flawless. With the confidence he gained today in himself and the team, he will definitely be a threat next week at Michigan,” Vest concluded.
“Chase was running strong and steady,” stated Gary Roulo, Chase’s crew chief and car owner. “He charged past the a lot of great cars and seasoned veterans, and I think we’d be looking at a top ten and possibly a top five finish, but that just wasn’t in the cards today,” Roulo concluded.
“Pocono is my mountain and every time I race here I take another step up that mountain. One of these days I will get to the top,” the affable 20 year old Mattioli stated. “I have a lot of great sponsors pulling for me and I am ready to give them top ten or better finishes every time I can,” Mattioli concluded.
Joining Liquid Fence and Advance Payment Services at Pocono were Penn’s Peak, PenTeleData, Lone Tree Remote Camps, Maui Mobile Suites, Papillon & Moyer, Pr-motions, WHUR Radio and Sweet Baby Ray’s Catering Company.
On Thursday, June 10th Mattioli hopes to pick up where he left off at Pocono at Michigan Speedway, practicing and qualifying his #17 Roulo Brothers Ford for the Wildlife 200 on Friday, June 11th.
