(LONG POND, PA — 6.6.2010) – - Sean Corr and the Empire Racing LLC team have made another successful trip to Pocono’s Tricky Triangle this past weekend in Long Pond, PA in the “Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper 200.” Placing 12th overall, the Goshen, NY native held a strong position at his home track throughout the 80-lap race despite some early troubles in the beginning of the race. Corr said, “I’m definitely excited to be back here at Pocono…it’s a challenging track which makes racing exciting.”

Corr, making his 4th return to Pocono Speedway, was anxious as ever to get back behind the wheel. Finishing practice with a time of 56.500 seconds and a top speed of 159.292 mph, Corr was confident in the ability of the #82 car to perform even better the following day for the race. “The new fins on the race car give the car a whole new feel…it’s been challenging trying to figure out what types of changes we can make to the car to make it better,” said Corr. After making some adjustments to the car to help with the handling, Corr went out for qualifying and came in 18th fastest out of a field of 36 cars.

Eager to make it to the front of the pack, Corr had some tire troubles early on in the race where he had a left front tire go down in lap 21. His pit crew quickly got him back on the track moments later. As the race moved on, Corr entered the pits again during lap 37 for additional fuel and again on lap 73 for fuel and new tires. The fresh grip from the new tires helped Corr move up one additional position in the last few laps of the race to make it to a 12th place finish. Corr said, “It’s always frustrating when we have trouble early out on the track but we do the best we can, and I’m confident in my team to help me get back on the track quickly. They did a great job and I am very excited with how well we did here today.”

After the excellent run at Pocono, Corr, still with the adrenaline in his veins, traveled quickly back to his hometown dirt track for some more action. Ready to take to the track in his Super Dirt Week 2008 Pro Stock champion car, Corr was anxious to master the newly packed track at Orange Country Fair Speedway in Middletown, NY. After arriving just in time for practice, the feature was postponed due to the encapsulating thunderstorms arriving from the west. “We were all looking forward to possibly making this a double-header weekend.” said Corr. “Its unfortunate the rain came just minutes before the feature.”
