Long Pond, PA (June 7, 2010)- Justin Marks and the No. 32 Win-Tron Racing team came to Pocono looking for a solid finish after an unfortunate end to the previous ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards race at Toledo Raceway. This weekend, the “Tricky Triangle” proved to bring its own challenges for the Lakeville, Minnesota based team.

After struggling with a tight in, loose off condition through the three unique corners of Pocono Raceway during practice on Friday, Crew Chief Mike Chaffee threw several changes at the car in an attempt to remedy the ill handling. With the adjustments, Justin was able to pick up enough speed to capture the fifth starting position in qualifying on Friday afternoon and felt he would have a good setup to start the Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper 200.

However, about seven laps after the drop of the green flag on Saturday afternoon, Justin radioed to the crew the same handling conditions he experienced in practice had returned. Win-Tron co-owner Nate Thiesse assured him that the crew would make changes on the first pit stop.

“Just hang on to it, I promise Chaffee and the guys will fix it for you. We’ll run our race and be there at the end,” Thiesse assured his driver.

Marks fell back to 15th position before the team’s first pit stop under green on lap 31. The pit crew gave the No. 32 four fresh tires and placed a spring rubber in the left rear spring to give Justin more grip through the turns. The caution flag flew just three laps later, and Chaffee decided to bring Justin back down pit road for some more adjustments.

Changes made on the two trips to pit road initially helped the car, but once again Marks reported an ill handling Construct Corps Toyota Camry just 10 laps after going back to green flag racing. A very long green flag run ensued as Marks continued to hang on within the top ten, until the second and final caution flag of the race came out with 10 laps remaining. The Win-Tron crew jumped at the chance to make a few more changes to the car in hopes to gain a couple precious spots in the short run to the checkered flag.

With fresh rubber on his No. 32, Justin took the green flag with five laps remaining while in the seventh position. Though he didn’t gain or lose any more positions in the remainder of the event, he and the crew were content with the top-ten finish after handling issues plagued them all afternoon.

“We definitely struggled but I think we made the most out of what we had to work with today. I learned a long time ago that no matter how bad you are, you can always get top-ten finishes if you keep the fenders on it.

“With a championship team like ours, when it doesn’t go right we salvage top-ten finishes every week and keep digging,” an exhausted Justin Marks commented after a long race.

The seventh place finish bumped Marks to 25 points behind championship points leader Patrick Sheltra heading into next weekend’s Racing for Wildlife 200 at Michigan International Speedway. Qualifying begins at 3:00 pm on Thursday, with the green flag for the 100-lap event scheduled for 5:15 pm on Friday.
