(Long Pond, PA June 5, 2010). Chad qualified 16th at Pocono Raceway for the Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper 200 in the #58 Tastee Caramel Apple Chevrolet only to see his day end on lap 67 due to a mechanical failure. He was able to move up into the top 10 when all of sudden the motor started running flat. He held on for another 27 laps before he lost a piston and had to bring in the #58 Tastee Caramel Apple Chevrolet.

“Chad had a great run going today at the Tricky Triangle and was continuing to make progress running times as fast as the leader before the motor gave way; I was really proud of everything Chad accomplished and learned this weekend at Pocono Raceway,” stated Rodney Jockisch Crew Chief on the #58 Tastee Caramel Apple Chevrolet.

Chad’s day started out strong from the 16th position where he quickly started to pick off cars one at a time. He pitted on lap 27 for four Hoosiers and Fuel and went back out to the track to only see the caution flag a few laps later putting him down one lap leaving only four cars on the lead lap. Despite being one lap down and a mechanical failure Chad was able to gain a lot of experience and is looking forward to going back to Pocono later on in the year.

Chad’s next race will be June 11, 2010 at Michigan International Speedway where he will start 23rd on Speed at 5pm EST.
