Sean Corr has up and down day in Pocono

Long Pond, Pennsylvania(July 31, 2010)— Sean Corr had very high hopes entering Saturday afternoon “Weis Markets 125” at Pocono Speedway.

After Friday afternoon qualifying, Corr found himself with his best starting position so far in his young ARCA career, and wound up 8th on the starting grid for the race. When asked about the qualifying run, Corr could hardly contain his excitement and said, “the car was just perfect and smooth as glass. I could drive it anywhere I needed to.”

However, the start of the race provided the start to a roller coaster of a day for Corr. As the green flag waved, Donny Lia missed a shift and broke his transmission, and with no where to go, Corr collected him and dropped back to 15th spot before getting free from the disabled car of Lia. Realizing there was only cosmetic damage to the car, Corr steadily ran back through the field, running as high as 11th before his mandatory pit stop.

Pitting on lap 32, the crew changed 4 tires, air pressure and made a track bar adjustment and sent Corr back out for the final run to the finish. However, entering the turn 2 on lap 37, Corr found himself in the “Spin Cycle” after some contact from behind by Chase Mattioli. Thinking quickly, Corr immediately fired up his car and joined back up with the field under yellow so as to not lose a lap, and when the pits opened up on lap 38, ducked onto pit road to the attention of his crew for 4 more tires.

The final 10 laps of the race were feverish for Corr, as he tried to weave his way through myriads of lap cars on his way back to the front of the field. But by the time the checkered flag fell, he could only get as high as 16th, even securing that position at the finish line just passing Chad McCumbee for that spot.

Said Corr,” Our finish was not indicative of the car that my crew prepared for me, but I am glad to finish on the lead lap. I can not thank Leonard Bus Sales, and Roush Yates Motors enough for the support that they give me.”
