Paul Menard’s Eyes on a Championship
Press Release“Driver off to career-best start in Nationwide Series”
Concord, N.C. (April 29, 2010) – Roush Fenway Racing driver Paul Menard secured his fifth top-10 finish this past weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, making it his third consecutive top-10 finish of the season in the Nationwide Series. Now just 189 points behind series leader Brad Keselowski, Menard is in championship contention.
“We are off to a good start and have laid a solid foundation for the 2010 season,” said crew chief Matt Puccia when asked about being a championship contender. “We know where our strengths are and I believe that puts us ahead of the game. We still have some work to do so we can improve and run in the top five every weekend. Our team has been consistent all year; we just need to capitalize on our good days to be even stronger.”
Menard is off to the best start of his career and is the most consistent performing Roush Ford this year. After eight starts he is one of just two drivers in the Nationwide Series to have completed all 1,157 laps of action and the only driver within the Roush Fenway organization to have accomplished that feat.
With 27 races left in the 2010 season, Menard will have plenty of opportunities to gain ground in the point standings. With their continued success the possibilities could be endless for Menard and the No. 98 team.
