AT RICHMOND INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY, APRIL 30, 2010

· Kyle Busch led twice for 62 laps to earn WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors in tonight’s BUBBA Burger 250. Busch captured the honor for the fourth time this season. He has led at least one lap in each of the nine races this season (10 times for 483 laps). In 35 NASCAR Nationwide Series short track races, Busch has now led 20 times for 1,521 laps.

· Busch leads the WIX Filters Lap Leader standings by two races (4-2) over Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick.

· Busch scored a fourth-place finish, his sixth top-five of the season.

· UNOFFICIALLY Busch is third in the series championship standings, 84 points behind leader Brad Keselowski and 25 behind second-place Harvick.

“It’s a tough deal. Sometimes you’re going to stay out and win ‘em and sometimes you’re not. We knew that there was enough on the lead lap there that if we could have just got three or four to stay with us we feel like we could have put two good laps together and possibly won this thing. Our car was good all night but it wasn’t what we needed to win the race. We made some big adjustments on it, made it better obviously.

We were still a little bit off that 22 car but we needed to do something different if we were going to win it and that’s kind of why we came here. We ran for a championship last year and yeah, we’re running for an owner’s championship this year but at the same time we just want to go out and win races. It’s another opportunity that we had to try to capitalize on. It didn’ t work out but we gave it a good college try and we’ll do it again next week.”

WERE YOU SURPRISED AT JUST ONE ATTEMPT AT A GREEN-WHITE-CHECKERED FINISH?

“Ever since we’ve had three how many times have we actually used it? So really, right now, even though we don’t have a long history with the three attempts, the odds are still in favor of just doing it once. Yeah, I’m surprised that it went once, to be honest with you [smiles]. You’re at a short track and of all places where you might think it would go three times this would be the place. And I tell ya, there were a few guys out there that tried to get it three times. The thing about it is if everybody can stay lined up and just get back to the white flag and after that it doesn’t matter if it come out because you’re all locked in. They had plenty of wrecks going on just nobody hitting anything.”
