· Coming off of a top-five finish at Darlington, Leffler is back on track… It has been a season of ups and downs for Leffler and his team, but a top-five finish last weekend (the team’s first of the season) at Darlington could provide the momentum they need to turn things around. With his fifth-place finish at Darlington Raceway, Leffler catapulted from 15th to 9th in the driver championship point standings. Trip Bruce will again serve as Leffler’s crew chief this weekend.
· Leffler back in the No. 10 ABF Camry for the next two races… Leffler returns to the seat of the No. 10 ABF Camry this weekend at “The Monster Mile.” During the 2010 season, Leffler will spend his time piloting Braun Racing’s No. 10 Camry (eight races) and No. 38 Camry (27 races), competing in a full schedule and making a run for the 2010 driver championship.
· Dover is the Site of Leffler’s First Career NASCAR Win
Leffler’s first NASCAR victory occurred at Dover International Speedway (DIS) in 2003. After starting 10th in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, Leffler led for 57 laps before claiming the win!
· Leffler at Dover, by the numbers…
In 13 Nationwide Series starts at DIS, Leffler has three top-five and five top-10 finishes. His best performance at the one-mile, concrete track came in 2005 when he started 12th and finished 3rd in Braun Racing’s No. 32 entry.
· Leffler in the loop at Dover… According to NASCAR’s Loop Data Statistics, Leffler is ranked in the top-10 in a number of categories including Closers (2nd), Fastest Laps Run (10th) and Laps in the Top-15. Leffler leads the field in passing with the breakdown as follows: Passes on the Frontstretch (2nd) and Passes on the Backstretch (6th). He is ranked 1st in passing in turns one, two and four.
· Leffler on SIRIUS’ Morning Drive every Wednesday…
Don’t forget to tune in to SIRIUS Radio’s “Morning Drive” with Mike Bagley and Pete Pistone every Wednesday at 10:30am to hear Leffler’s take on recent events in the Nationwide Series and what you can expect from the week’s upcoming race.
Leffler on “The Monster Mile”
“Dover is a really fun race track. It’s similar to Bristol with the high banking but it’s got the feel of a superspeedway. It’s easy to forget that it’s only a one mile-track because of the speeds you are carrying. It’s really narrow so there’s not a whole lot of room to negotiate. Being able to charge hard into the corners so you can keep up your momentum on the straight-aways is really important. Dover has been a pretty good track for me over the years. I got my first career NASCAR win there in 2003 when I was racing in the Camping World Truck Series, so it’s a special place for me.
Leffler on a top-five run last weekend
“This season has been bumpier than I had expected as we went into Daytona but after a strong run last weekend at Darlington I can feel things turning around. This is such a great group of hard-working guys and it has been tough on us all. Change is never easy but sometimes it is necessary to get things turned in a more positive direction. Everyone within the Braun Racing organization has really stepped in to help this team get back on track and I think we proved something last weekend with a top-five finish.”
Equipment Information
The No. 10 ABF team will unload chassis #041 in this weekend’s Heluva Good! 200. This is the same chassis Leffler piloted earlier this season at Auto Club Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway, finishing 4th and 12th respectively.
