Braun Racing Announces Updated Driver Schedule For The No. 32 Dollar General Toyota
Press Release
“This sport is our passion and we are all racers at heart,” said team owner, Todd Braun. “However, what Brian Vickers is facing now is bigger than racing. He has been a member of the Braun Racing family since 2007 and has been very important to the success of our company. He will always have a seat in one of our race cars. Everyone at Braun Racing wishes him the absolute best as he continues his treatment and works towards a return to competition in 2011.”
Crew chief, Trent Owens, echoed Braun’s sentiments. “Brian is probably one of the most talented drivers that I’ve worked with and has been a very valuable part of this team and its success. We are obviously more concerned about his health and him getting better than we are about his racing. He will be missed but we look forward to working with him again in the future.”
Vickers was slated to drive the Dollar General Toyota in 10 races this season, sharing driving duties of the No. 32 with Reed Sorenson. In five starts, he has earned two top-five and five top-10 finishes. Together, he and Sorenson have driven the Dollar General Camry to four top-five and nine top-10 finishes, putting the No. 32 team fifth in the Nationwide Series Owner’s Championship point standings.
