Brian Ickler – NNS ADVANCE

Team: No. 16 Roush Fenway Racing Ford Fusion
Race: Federated Auto Parts 300
Crew Chief: Ben Leslie
Chassis: RK-346

FAST FACTS:

MAKING A GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION - Brian Ickler made quite an impression with his 15th-place finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway last weekend in his Roush Fenway Racing debut. Among active Roush Fenway Racing drivers, only Matt Kenseth (fifth), Carl Edwards (10th) and Paul Menard (sixth) had better finishes in their debut with the team.

ICKLER AT NASHVILLE - Ickler will make his track debut at the 1.33-mile Nashville Superspeedway this weekend in the Federated Auto Parts 300.

SIGNING FOR A CAUSE – On Saturday, June 5, Ickler will join teammates Colin Braun and Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. to sign autographs from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. at the RaceFest Tent (in the Expo area outside turn three) to help raise money for Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. Fans can bring a canned food item or money donation and receive a wrist band to attend the autograph session which includes many of the Nationwide Series drivers. All donations and food collected will aid those in the greater Nashville area who were affected by the severe flooding earlier this year.

ROUSH FENWAY AT NASHVILLE - In 37 Nationwide Series starts, Roush Fenway Racing has four wins, 11 top-fives, 20 top-10s, three pole awards and 488 laps led at Nashville Superspeedway. The wins were tallied by Greg Biffle (1) and “Concrete” Carl Edwards (3).

NASHVILLE CHASSIS SELECTION – Crew chief Ben Leslie has selected RK-346 this weekend at Nashville. This car is making a return trip to the 1.33-mile concrete track as it was last raced there in April by Colin Braun. In that race, Braun started seventh and finished 30th after being involved in a multi-car accident.

Ickler, on heading to Nashville for the first time: “I’m really looking forward to going to Nashville this weekend. We had a pretty good finish last week at Charlotte and I really think we can take what we learned there as a team and build on it. It will be interesting to have the field made up of mostly Nationwide Series only guys, but I think it’s a great opportunity for me to take advantage of. I will definitely look to my teammates for advice on this place though, as I’ve never raced there before.”

Crew chief Ben Leslie, on heading to Nashville with Brian Ickler: “Brian (Ickler) had a really great run for us at Charlotte last weekend. He gave us very good car feed-back during the race which is so crucial when trying to make adjustments to make the car better. He is an incredible talent and has great potential. Looking forward to Nashville, I’m excited to have Brian back in the car and I think he will do a great job there. This team is ready and we’re hoping for another solid finish.”
