LEBANON, Tenn. – Fans attending the NASCAR Nationwide Series Federated Auto Parts 300 race at Nashville Superspeedway on Saturday, June 5 will enjoy one of the most exciting races on the series schedule while also participating in the “Race Fest for Flood Relief,” which directly assists those in need as a result of the recent Nashville-area floods.

A NASCAR Nationwide Series driver autograph session and silent auction featuring NASCAR memorabilia is scheduled for June 5 at the Nationwide Insurance display in the Expo area located outside of Gate 3 at the track. The autograph session will be from 1-2 p.m. while the auction runs from 1-4 p.m. In exchange for admission, fans will be asked to make a canned food or monetary donation at the track that will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. A limited number of wristbands will be issued in advance of the session beginning at 11 a.m. at the display area on a first-come, first-served basis.

Fans can browse the auction items by visiting www.NashvilleSuperspeedway.com and clicking the “Race Fest For Flood Relief” icon. Additionally, fans can access Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Race-Fest-for-Flood-Relief/124472297575837 to also view auction item photos and further Race Fest information.

Fans unable to attend the Race Fest for Flood Relief can still support the Second Harvest Food Bank by dropping canned goods in collection bins located at the entrance gates to the main grandstands.

“We’re thrilled to have Nashville Superspeedway, NASCAR and fans support Second Harvest, especially right now while we’re helping many Middle Tennesseans recover after the flood,” said Jaynee Day, CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. “We are very focused on creating opportunities, around our NASCAR weekend, to give back and contribute to agencies like Second Harvest that are playing such an important role in helping those that have been affected by the flood,” added Cliff Hawks, vice president and general manager of Nashville Superspeedway.

Below is a rundown of the week’s events:

• For every car that goes through the Miles Auto Spa (100 Market Exchange Court, Franklin, Tenn.) from June 1-5, series sponsor Nationwide Insurance – which already has donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross of Middle Tennessee – will donate $5, up to an additional $25,000, for ARC flood relief.

• A cupcake sale from Nashville’s hometown favorite, “Cupcake Collection,” at Nashville Superspeedway in the NASCAR Nationwide Series garage from 1-3 p.m. on Friday, June 4.

• June 5 autograph session at Nashville Superspeedway from 1-2 p.m. featuring over 20 series-only regulars and NASCAR artist Sam Bass (artwork designer on the Gibson Les Paul trophy guitar). After the race, a second trophy guitar signed by John Rich, Sam Bass and the race winner will be available for bid on the NASCAR Foundation website (see below).

• Following the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Nashville, there will be an on-line auction hosted by the NASCAR Foundation featuring top-line NASCAR memorabilia and items from various country music artists, including a guitar signed by Taylor Swift and another exclusively designed by Sam Bass.
