Colin Braun Returns To The No. 16 Con-way Freight Ford Fusion At Kentucky Speedway
Press Release
No. 16 Con-way Freight Ford this weekend at Kentucky Speedway after
giving way to new teammate Brian Ickler for two races. This is
Braun’s first time back in the car after a 10th-place finish at
Dover International Speedway three weeks ago, his highest finish of the
season. Last weekend, Braun practiced the No. 98 car for teammate Paul
Menard, who raced to a third-place finish at Nashville Superspeedway.
The rookie of the year candidate has made two starts at the 1.5-mile
Kentucky Speedway in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, with an average
finish of 18.0. In both races, Braun was headed for solid top-10
finishes before late race incidents denied his chances. The young driver
hopes to improve upon that this weekend in his first NASCAR Nationwide
Series start at the track.

Ford this weekend at Kentucky. I’ve been looking forward to it since
Dover actually. We had a really good race there and we’re bringing
back that same car this weekend with more high hopes. Even though I
haven’t been in the No. 16 these past few weeks, I’ve been able to
continue learning. It was great helping Brian (Ickler) kind of get
acclimated for his first couple starts and it was awesome to get to help
Paul (Menard) out last weekend in Nashville.”
The Meijer 300 at Kentucky Speedway is scheduled for Saturday, June 12
at 8:00 P.M. EST. The pre-race broadcast begins at 7:30 p.m. EST on
ESPN.
