Bass Pro Shops to Sponsor Austin Dillon, RCR’s No. 21 in NASCAR Nationwide Series at Loudon
Press Release
“All of us at Bass Pro Shops are excited about the kind of season Austin is having his first year out and we couldn’t be more proud of him,” stated Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris. “We’re also honored to be a part of RCR and place a high value on our long-time association with our good friend Richard Childress.”
A long-time motorsports supporter, Bass Pro Shops is also a primary sponsor of RCR’s No. 3 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. With the support of Bass Pro Shops, Dillon and his RCR team have had a stellar 2010 season in the NCWTS to-date, earning back-to-back pole awards at Texas Motor Speedway on June 4 and Michigan Int’l Speedway on June 12. The High Point University student currently leads the Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings and, with nine of 25 races complete, sits 11th in the point standings on the strength of two top-five and four top-10 finishes.
“Competing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series this weekend is a great opportunity for me and my team,” said Dillon. “We are all very excited and I am so thankful to have Bass Pro Shops coming with us. I hope to bring them a good finish.”
Saturday’s New Hampshire 200 marks Dillon’s seventh NNS attempt and first start in NASCAR’s No. 2 tour since finishing 19th at Michigan Int’l Speedway in August 2009. The highlight of Dillon’s NNS career thus far is a fourth-place finish at Memphis Motorsports Park in October 2008.
The No. 21 will return to its primary Zaxby’s paint scheme next week for the July 2 Subway Jalapeno 250 powered by Coca-Cola at Daytona International Speedway with Clint Bowyer at the wheel.
Flag-to-flag coverage of the New England 200 will be televised live on Saturday, June 26, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on ESPN and live on the Performance Racing Network and Sirius XM Satellite Radio.
