“New Car” of Nationwide Series Debut:
- For the first time since November 2007, Eric McClure must qualify his No. 24 Hefty® Odor Block® Ford on speed in order to guarantee the team a starting position in Friday’s Subway Jalapeno 250.
- The Nationwide Series will debut its “New Car” this weekend at the historic 2.5-mile superspeedway.
- While many drivers participated in a pair of “New Car” tests this season, the Subway Jalapeno 250 weekend will mark McClure’s first time behind the wheel of the “New Car”.
- The 31-year-old driver recorded his best finish at the superspeedway (17th) in February and has completed 91% of the total laps in eight starts.
- The Daytona event will mark McClure’s 125th career start if he can earn one of the 43 starting positions.
Waverly Property Group Co-Primary for Subway Jalapeno 250
- For the third consecutive year, Waverly Property Group has be associated with McClure and the Hefty® Racing™ team. Serving as an associate sponsor in the past, WPG will be co-primary for the summer event at DIS.

I have to qualify on speed and haven’t done that in a few years but I am ready to get to Daytona and feel out this new car so we can get it in the show. I have driven a Cup COT car before so hopefully that experience will help me with this new car. We need to make this race and we need to gain as many points as possible.”
