MOORESVILLE, N.C. (June 29, 2010) – Jennifer Jo Cobb will make her first Nationwide Series start at Daytona International Speedway in this Friday’s Subway Jalapeno 250. Cobb will be piloting the No. 27 Driver Boutique Ford Mustang in NASCAR’s first race featuring the new car.

Cobb’s team will be working together with Baker Curb Racing at each of the four Nationwide Series events with the new car. The two independent teams decided that they would benefit from sharing resources and personnel as they learned the ins and outs of NASCAR’s latest generation racing machine.

At Daytona International Speedway, Cobb has one Camping World Truck Series start and one ARCA Series start, each this season. Her best finish was 17th-place, which came in the ARCA event after starting 42nd.

“I’m so excited to be racing at Daytona this week. Our team has come so far from the beginning of the season; this is another big step in our progression. It says a lot about us to have our new Nationwide car ready for this race and set to compete.

“We’ll be partnering with Baker Curb Racing for the four races with the new Nationwide car. They have lots of experience and great personnel. They’ll compliment our team very well in this effort.

“I think the new cars are going to put on an awesome show. The nose and cockpit of the new car is wider than our current car, and the roof is taller, so it should poke a bigger hole in the air. That’s going to make drafting and sucking up to the car in front of you a lot easier. The front and rear bumpers line up, which means you’ll see drivers pushing each other to the front all race long. It should be an action-packed race from start to finish. Not to mention, the cars look really cool, too. Most importantly, the cars have safety advancements as well. There are improvements in the roll cage and there’s energy reducing foam to make the car safer for the driver. Hopefully we won’t put that to the test, but it’s reassuring to know that they’ve made those advancements on the cars.”
