· Braun Racing on a roll after Chicago… Braun Racing had arguably its best weekend as an organization from a performance standpoint last Friday night at Chicagoland Speedway. All four of its entries posted finishes inside the top-eight with Brian Scott (No. 11) finishing third, David Reutimann (No. 10) finishing fourth, Leffler (No. 38) finishing fifth and Reed Sorenson (No. 32) finishing eighth.

· Gateway International Raceway, by the numbers… In seven NASCAR Nationwide Series starts at Gateway International Raceway, Leffler has two top-five finishes and has finished outside of the top-20 only once. His best performances at the 1.25-mile oval came in 2007 and 2008, when he posted fourth-place finishes. He has a total of nine laps led, all from the 2008 event.

· Two Runner Up Finishes in Camping World Truck Series Races at Gateway… Leffler has two runner-up finishes to his credit in two career NCWTS starts at St. Louis-based track (2002-2003).

· Pardue on the pit box… Veteran crew chief, Eddie Pardue, will call the shots for Leffler and the No. 38 team on a fulltime basis. Pardue comes to Braun Racing after spending the last ten years at Roush Racing where he moved quickly through the ranks, serving as crew chief since 2006 for the team’s Nationwide Series program.

· Get Fired Up with Great Clips… Great Clips is launching the second round of the Fire Me Up contest. Customers can enter two ways: either by texting “Fire” to Whale (94253) or by visiting www.greatclips.com and choosing the Fire Me Up Sweepstakes. The code is: Fire. The grand prize winner will receive a once in a lifetime trip for two to the Great Clips 300 in Atlanta. In addition, the winner will be able to watch the race from the pits, have a meet and greet with Kasey Kahne and Jason Leffler, ride in the pace car and receive a personalized fire suit. Registration starts on June 7th and ends on August 7th.

· Did you know? Great Clips is the longest-running sponsor in the Nationwide Series…Minneapolis-based Great Clips, Inc. came onto the scene in 2001 as a primary sponsor of Akins Motorsports No. 38 entry, then driven by Christian Elder. Kasey Kahne drove the car from 2003-2005, before Leffler took over the wheel in 2006.

· Leffler on SIRIUS’ Morning Drive every Wednesday… Don’t forget to tune in to SIRIUS Radio’s “Morning Drive” with Mike Bagley and Pete Pistone every Wednesday at 10:30am to hear Leffler’s take on recent events in the Nationwide Series and what you can expect from the week’s upcoming race.

Leffler on racing at Gateway International Raceway

“Gateway is a pretty challenging track from a handling standpoint. You have two very different corners so you really have to work to find the right balance. It’s not going to be perfect on both ends of the track so you have to give and take a little bit. One of the biggest keys is getting a good run off of turns one and two so you have a lot of momentum down the backstretch. This team has had some really strong runs at this track over the last couple of years so I feel like that, coupled with the recent momentum we have going for us with the addition of Eddie Pardue to the team, we should be in good shape and have a shot at getting the Great Clips Camry back to victory lane.”

Equipment Information

The No. 38 Great Clips team will hit the track with chassis #BR017 in this weekend’s event at Gateway. This is the same chassis Leffler drove to the win at O’Reilly Raceway Park in 2007 to capture the NNS first victory for Toyota. Leffler drove this chassis in almost every short track race last season, finishing in the top-10 six times.
