· Great Clips corporate staff making their way to Iowa… With Great Clips corporate headquarters located just three hours away in Minneapolis, Minn., expect to see a large contingency of folks sporting their Great Clips Racing tees. Over 30 corporate employees and guests will board a bus and make the three hour trip to Iowa Speedway to cheer on Leffler and the No. 38 team on Saturday night.

Customers can enter two ways: either by texting “Fire” to Whale (94253) or by visiting www.greatclips.com and choosing the Fire Me Up Sweepstakes. The code is: Fire. The grand prize winner will receive a once in a lifetime trip for two to the Great Clips 300 in Atlanta. In addition, the winner will be able to watch the race from the pits, have a meet and greet with Kasey Kahne and Jason Leffler, ride in the pace car and receive a personalized fire suit. Registration starts on June 7th and ends on August 7th.

· Did you know? Great Clips is the longest-running sponsor in the Nationwide Series…Minneapolis-based Great Clips, Inc. came onto the scene in 2001 as a primary sponsor of Akins Motorsports No. 38 entry, then driven by Christian Elder. Kasey Kahne drove the car from 2003-2005, before Leffler took over the wheel in 2006.

“You can’t really compare this track to anywhere else we go throughout the year. When we went there last season, I had thought it would be a lot like Richmond but it’s a lot bigger than I thought and has a different surface. Turns one and two are pretty bumpy so that is something you have to work on throughout practice. Overall, it’s a pretty fun place to race. There is $50,000 up for grabs with this being a Nationwide Dash-for-Cash race and I’d say it’s up for anyone to take.”

Crew chief, Eddie Pardue on Iowa Speedway

“Iowa is an awesome race track, much like a short track in length, but very fast, which makes it unique and quite challenging. The entire team is looking forward to going back to Iowa and applying what we have learned the last couple of weeks. We definitely need a little luck on our side after having very fast cars and no results to show for it lately. I’m excited to go back with Jason where he had a great third-place finish and I captured the pole with my previous team. I have high expectations for this weekend and we don’t think we will be satisfied with anything less than a top-five finish.”

Equipment Information

The No. 38 Great Clips team will hit the track with chassis #BR025 in this weekend’s US Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway. This chassis last saw track time at Nashville Superspeedway, where Leffler started fourth before a blown engine cut his night short. In 2009, Leffler raced this chassis at Iowa Speedway and Dover Motor Speedway, finishing third and sixth respectively.
