Press Release
Team:
No. 16 Con-way Freight Ford FusionRace: Zippo 200 at the Glen – Watkins Glen International
Crew Chief: Rick Viers
Chassis: RK- 488
FAST FACTS:
PUTTING IOWA IN THE REARVIEW - Colin Braun and the No. 16 Con-way
Freight team are hoping to put their 32nd-place finish at Iowa behind
them as they look ahead to Watkins Glen this weekend. Braun was
involved in hard crash after losing a right-front tire near the
mid-point of the race. The finish was Braun’s lowest in eight races
after the rookie had gone on a string of top-12 finishes, notching six
in his last eight starts.
BRAUN AT WATKINS GLEN - Braun will be making his first NASCAR
Nationwide Series start at Watkins Glen this weekend. However, he has
previously made three Grand Am Series starts in a Daytona Prototype car
at the 2.45-mile road course.
RIDING WITH CON-WAY FREIGHT’S BEST - This weekend, the No. 16 Con-way
Freight Ford will feature the names of those Con-way Freight truck
drivers who have earned a trip to the National Truck Driving
Championships, often referred to as the “Super Bowl of Safety” by
those in the industry. The names of the 92 Con-way Freight truck
drivers are inscribed in blue inside the white Con-way Freight logo on
the hood of the No. 16 Ford.
ROUSH FENWAY RACING AT THE GLEN - In 15 Nationwide Series starts at
Watkins Glen, Roush Fenway Racing has three top-fives and seven top-10
finishes with 36 laps led. Watkins Glen is one of four active tracks
the series travels to where the team has yet to score a win.
WATKINS GLEN CHASSIS SELECTION – Crew chief Rick Viers has selected
RK-488 for this weekend’s Zippo 200 at The Glen. This car was raced
last at Road America in June where Braun started third and finished
11th.

“I’m excited to get back on a road course this weekend at Watkins
Glen. We had a really tough time in Iowa last weekend and I’m ready
to put that behind me and look ahead. This team had a really great
streak of good finishes going [before Iowa] and I want to do all that I
can to get that back on track to reach our goal of getting in the top 15
in owner points.
I think that the Glen is a great place for us to do
that. We had success in both qualifying and the race at Road America
and we are bringing back that same car this weekend and hoping for even
better results.”
Crew chief Rick Viers, on looking ahead to Watkins Glen:
“Everyone on this No. 16 team is looking forward to Watkins Glen this
weekend. We know our race team is strong and we are looking to have
this race put us back on track to reach our goal of getting into the top
15 in points. Colin is a strong road course racer and I know he has the
ability to get a solid finish for us.”
