CONCORD, N.C. (August 4, 2010) - Billy Johnson will make his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut this weekend at Watkins Glen International. Under the watchful eye of veteran crew chief Mike Kelley, the 23-year old San Clemente, California-native will drive the No. 6 CitiFinancial Ford in the Zippo 200. In five career sports car starts at the 2.45-mile road course in upstate New York, Johnson has one win and three top-five finishes.

Johnson, an accomplished road racer, competes full time in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series as the co-driver of the No. 61 Roush Performance Ford Mustang. Already in 2010, Johnson has helped his team to two wins in eight races and sits third in the point standings. Over the last three years, the young wheelman has the most wins (seven) and most podium finishes of any driver in the series.

“I hope that with the road course experience I have and with the great equipment at Roush Fenway Racing that we will have something big to talk about this weekend,” said Johnson, who tested the No. 6 Ford at Road Atlanta last month. “I know the CitiFinancial Ford will be fast and my main goal is to keep it out of harms way and get a good finish for the team. There is a lot of talent in the race but I am confident about the experience I have at Watkins Glen and think we have all the tools to run up front. I can’t wait to get on track.”

Catch Johnson and the No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing team in the Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen International on Saturday, August 7, 2010 with coverage beginning at 1:30 p.m. EDT on ESPN.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr., the team’s primary driver, returns to the seat of the No. 6 Ford at Michigan International Speedway next weekend.
